Did you know that April is both National Car Care Month AND National Informed Women Month? This is a great time to learn how to better care for our cars, especially considering that the average age of cars and light trucks on the road today is 9.4 years. We’d better be taking care of our vehicles so that we can run them as long as possible!
There is a new website called Motor Oil Matters available to help you easily locate information about how quality motor oils can help prolong the life of your car’s engine and improve overall efficiency. The site also provides a place where you can get your motor oil questions answered. You can even test your motor mind with an interactive quiz.
Did you know…..
- that according to a recent survey from the Automotive Service Association, more than 54 percent of customers who take their vehicles for service and repair are women?
- that using a high-quality motor oil in the right grade can help maximize fuel economy?
- that low-quality oils that do not meet industry standards or the vehicle manufacturer´s requirements could cost consumers in the long run by potentially damaging the vehicle´s engine or possibly voiding the manufacturer´s warranty?
- that another reason to look to a high-quality motor oil – like Pennzoil and Quaker State – is that it is designed to meet the demands of today´s engines?

The Giveaway….
If you would like to get your oil changed at your local Jiffy Lube – and put your new car-care knowledge to the test – you’re in the right place! The generous people at MotorOilMatters and Shell Lubricants have provided me with this great information AND two $35 Jiffy Lube gift cards (via MyBlogSpark). There are four ways you can enter to win one!
- Check out the MotorOilMatters website. Leave a comment telling me the most interesting thing you learned there. Or play the M.O.M. Knows Best game and leave a comment telling me your score.
- Subscribe to the Saving & Giving FREE daily email update. This sends one summary email to your inbox each day, showing what was posted that day. If I don’t post, you don’t get an email. I don’t ever use your email address for anything except the daily update.
- Follow Saving & Giving on Twitter.
- Become a Saving & Giving Facebook fan.
This giveaway will close on Friday, April 23 at 9:00 p.m. EST. A winner will be chosen randomly from all entries. Good luck!
All information in this post – and the $35 gift cards – were provided to me by MyBlogSpark on behalf of MotorOilMatters and ShellLubricants. I was in no way compensated for writing this post. I just thought you might like to have the information and win a gift card!

I tried the Facebook fan & all I saw was a Like link at the top. Does that mean I’m already a fan?
Anyway, I never knew the W in motor oil meant Winter, not Weight
Janice, I think that Facebook recently changed the Fan to Like. I noticed that on a couple of sites I’ve tried to fan lately. If you’d like to do the Like option, it should work the same way.
I learned I don’t know as much as I thought I did lol
