I stopped by CVS at lunchtime yesterday and was excited to get my ECBs printed at the magic coupon printing machine at the store. In the past, I’ve always had to wait to get the quarterly ECBs until I checked out. I ended up using them in my transaction today. Here’s what I got:
Starting ECBs: $12.50
Merchandise Value: $29.48
Out-of-Pocket Cost: $1.02 plus tax
Savings: $28.46 (97%)
Ending ECBs: $10.00
What I Bought:
4 Stayfree Maxi Pads – $3.99 each
4 Ziploc Sandwich Bags (100 count) – $2.50 each
4 Gold Emblem Bagged Candy – 88¢ each
Coupons Used:
– 2 $1.50 off 2 Ziploc printable coupon (no longer available)
– 2 Buy 1 – Get 1 FREE Stayfree – CVS store sale this week
– 2 Buy 1 – Get 1 FREE Stayfree coupons from 6/27 RedPlum insert
– 2 $1.00 off 2 Gold Emblem coupons from the in-store coupon printing machine
– $7.50 Quarterly ECBs printed at the in-store coupon printing machine
ECBs Earned: $5.00 (Ziploc)
Out-of-Pocket Cost: $1.02 plus tax
So I saved 97% and increased my ECBs!
What about you? Have you been to CVS this week? Did you find any great deals?

What are the quarterly ECB’s? Do they just automatically print? How do I know if I have any? Thanks!!

Kristin – You get 2% back for most purchases at CVS. That’s after coupons though, so that part of the ECBs isn’t usually much when you shop like we do! But you also get back $1 for every 2 prescriptions you fill. These ECBs add up through each quarter and then print when the quarter ends. The ones that are printing now were earned through April, May, and June. You’ll usually get an email from them if you’re registered with them online, or you can print them at the in-store printing machine. If you don’t have a machine, they’ll print at the end of your first receipt after the quarter ends. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have other questions!
