Box Tops for Education: $25 Walmart Gift Card Giveaway

With a blog title like “Saving & Giving” it’s pretty obvious that I like to save money and that I like to give. Some of my favorite giving projects are ones that just happen naturally, without costing my family anything extra. The Box Tops for Education program definitely falls into this category.

I’m sure you’ve learned from my shopping trip posts that we eat a lot of cereal and granola bars. Fortunately for us (and our daughter’s school), many of these products participate in the Box Tops program.

When I was contacted by My Blog Spark about seeing how many Box Top products I could get with a $25 Walmart gift card, I jumped at the opportunity! My husband and I stopped at Walmart earlier this week and got everything pictured here for just over $25.

I was a little skeptical about the prices at Walmart, but I was pleasantly surprised to find some Value Sized boxes of granola bars on the shelves. The Fiber One bars (our favorites) were only $4.00 for a double pack. That’s a pretty good deal! I ended up only using four coupons for this trip:

I could have used the $.50 off Fiber One printable, but I used all of mine at Kroger a couple of weeks ago.

The best part about this trip (besides having my handsome hubby with me!) was that we ended up with 13 Box Tops for Emma’s school!  We’ll add these to our ever-growing stash of Box Tops and turn them in periodically throughout the school year. It’s amazing to see how quickly these little Box Tops add up! They’re popping up on everything from tissues to juice to bath tissue to feminine products. I check every package as its emptied, just to make sure I’m not missing one. I feel like I’m throwing away dimes if I miss them!

  9. I found some Betty Crocker Cake Mix packages with 4 Boxtops on them for under $1 each. I recently also bought some Go-gurts with double boxtops.

  14. I get the majority of my Box Tops from cereal and diapers (Huggies). I’ve been collecting for my nephew who just started school and now I have a collection for my little boy.

  31. We buy tons of products with Box Tops! I have an envelope stuffed with Box Tops, waiting for school to start. We find Box Tops on our toilet paper, Fiber One bars, cereal boxes, frosting, Pull-Ups, and many other products.

  35. I save Box Tops for my daughter’s school also. I am always looking for items that we might like that have the box tops, cereal is one thing that use a lot.

  38. Fruit snacks are the favorite in my house. The kids can take them to school for their mid-morning school snack which goes over real well.

  40. I recently noticed that Progresso soups now contain a Box Top label. As I’m sure you know, that’s one of my favorites!

  72. I have been collecting box tops for my children’s school for the last 5 years. I just sent a ziploc bag full to school yesterday. There is also a Catalina deal going right now at Kroger that prints a box top promo code for online redemption. It’s a great tool for schools to get the little extras they need. I know my husband, who will be a new physical education teacher in a few months, will be happy everyone sends in box tops because they can purchase p.e. equipment with the funds.   81. I ove WalMart and box tops. I work in the school and am here to say that this money really does come back to the school and we get lots of stuff for our classrooms. These add up quickly, we look on everything. I even caught myself looking on the bottom of the box of tissues when we were at the drs office! HA!

I had no idea that So many stores like Target and Publix and WalMart give bonus Box Tops slips for buying a number of Box Tops products. I received a slip for 12 extras from Target today for purchasing 6 products with Box Tops. ….an extra $1.20 to buy library books for my library!!!!
