Do you think I can _______?
She’s filled in the blank with lots of different things. Being a ballerina…. Learning to ice skate….. Trying out for a part in the play….. Sometimes the idea changes within minutes. Sometimes it sticks and truly becomes a dream.
Whatever the dream, we can encourage it. We may not be able to take six different lessons to learn how to do things, but we can read books, watch videos, act it out in the living room, and have fun with it other ways. Then, if the idea really does take root and become something she’s interested in, we can pursue it.
What I don’t ever want to do is respond with a well-that’s-just-silly attitude. They are her ideas, her dreams. Who knows what God has in store for this little lady? Whatever it is, I want to be there cheering her on, encouraging her to run after her dreams.
