It’s been one of THOSE weeks… Well, it’s been one of THOSE months actually. I’m learning that couponing and bargain shopping sometimes have seasons. And I’m not talking about which fruits and veggies are in seasons. This is a crazy season of life for us. We’ve started our homeschooling year, and we’re trying to get into a good solid routine. We have a new Saturday night service that’s started at our church, and we’re helping with that. Our business is growing, and we’re trying to keep up with clients and projects.
These are ALL good things… GREAT things! But they have definitely thrown a monkey-wrench into my normal shopping routines. True confession: I haven’t bought Sunday newspapers for three weeks! *GASP* I know! I think one of those was a holiday weekend, but it’s all a blur now. All I know is that when I’ve looked for some coupons to go with recent deals, I don’t have them.
But this is just a season. I know that we’ll get ourselves into a routine and find a new normal that incorporates all of these great things we have going on. And for the time being, our grocery budget will just need to be a little bit higher to compensate for it. And I’m okay with that… or at least I will be. 🙂
So while I’m usually here showing you the sweet deals that I scored at CVS and Kroger, this week’s show-and-tell is going to be a little different. I’m 99% sure that we were out of EVERYTHING this week. The fridge light was extra-bright because we were in need of a good stock-up. (You know how it’s dimmer when the fridge is full, right?) Plus we were out of everything from ibuprofin to bathroom cleaner to sugar! Even the DOG needed food! Yeah… It was one of THOSE weeks.
The Giveaway
So here’s the plan. You study my shopping picture, and then guess how much I spent. And whoever guesses closest to the real price wins a $5 Amazon gift card.
Tips for Guessing:
- Keep in mind that I’m short on coupons right now. Being newspaper-less for weeks is NOT good for the coupon supply.
- Some of the things we bought were not on sale. We just needed them.
- You can use this week’s Kroger deals list as a little cheat sheet for some of the deals.
- Click these zoomed-in pictures for a closer look at what’s there. There are a few things that are a bit hard to see in the full picture.
***** THE GUESSING IS NOW CLOSED *****
The winner is Michelle with a guess of $156.50. My actual total was $157.90. I told you it was one of THOSE weeks! Thanks for guessing everyone!
